Easy Cheesy Spaghetti
Kids adore their quick and simple Cheesy Spaghetti, which can be prepared in under 20 minutes and served as a side dish to a variety of main courses.
I don’t know about you, but I love weeknight recipes. These are the kind of recipes you serve on a whim for dinner because it involves nothing more than grabbing a few ingredients from the fridge and pantry and then heating them together in a pan until hot. This Easy Cheesy Spaghetti is just that – easy and quick to make.
Ingredients:
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 ounces cream cheese
- 2 cups sharp cheddar shredded
- 1 cup white cheddar shredded
Instructions:
- According to package directions, cook spaghetti. Drain the water in a colander.
- Over low heat, melt butter in a large skillet. Cook, whisking constantly until the sauce is smooth and faintly bubbling about 2 minutes. Whisk in the milk and Dijon mustard slowly.
- Cook, stirring often, over low heat until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes. Continue to simmer over low heat, stirring frequently, until the cream cheese has melted. Slowly stir in both cheddars until they are completely melted.
- Toss with the cooked pasta and serve right away.
