This turkey chili recipe healthy can be made in 30 minutes on a stovetop. Serve in warm dishes with tortilla chips and your favorite chili topics.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1 medium purple onion, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 15 oz pinto beans with juice
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 2 oz jar of diced jalapeños or green chilis, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 15 oz black beans, drained and lightly rinsed
- 15 oz tomato sauce
- 15 oz white beans with juice
- 15 oz corn, drained (or use 2 ears of cooked corn)
- 30 oz canned diced tomatoes, seasoned or plain
Instructions:
- In a 5-carat saucepan or Dutch oven over medium/high heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and stir 1 pound ground turkey until fully cooked (5 minutes).
- Add purple onion cubes, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon thyme, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Fry for 5 minutes or until onions is cooked.
- Add drained and washed black beans, pinto beans, and white beans with juice. Also add the chopped jalapeno and canned tomato cubes with juice, tomato sauce, and filtered corn.
- Stir, bring to boil, then lighten and simmer without the lid for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. season to taste Near the end of the cooking process.
