Fudgy Chocolate Bread
This chocolate fudge bread recipe transforms brownie batter into fast bread. This decadent chocolate bread is perfect for entertaining or as a lovely Christmas gift. To give your bread a crisp and nutty flavor, add a cup of finely chopped roasted walnuts.
Ingredients:
- 1 pkg BAKER’S Unsweetened Chocolate
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup finely chopped toasted walnuts
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
- In a large microwaveable bowl, melt the chocolate and butter on HIGH for 2 minutes, or until the butter is melted; stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is thoroughly combined. Mix in the sugars thoroughly.
- Combine the eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.
- Mix in the flour mixture thoroughly.
- Add the nuts and mix well.
- Spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray and spread the batter in it.
- 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes in the oven, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Bread should be allowed to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Cool fully on a wire rack after removing from the pan.
