Coca Cola BBQ Ribs

This is the single best rib recipe you’ll ever need to make. Sticky and sweet. Absolute perfection!
My family loves to enjoy this dish at their barbecue all year round by preparing these moist and tender ribs, whether in summer or winter.

Ingredients:

For the ribs :

  • 4 pounds baby back ribs

  • 1 (12 ounces) can Coca-Cola
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2/3 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ tablespoons yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • Kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
  1. Combine the Coca-Cola (1.5 liters) bottle, onion, garlic, bay leaves, and peppercorns in a big pot.
  2. Add the ribs and, if required, a little water to ensure that the ribs are completely submerged.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and cook, turning the ribs regularly, for about 1 hour, or until the flesh peels away from the bone.
  4. To create the sauce, in a big heavy saucepan, combine the butter, onion, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, garlic, brown sugar, and (12 ounces) Coca-Cola. Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 25 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and decreased.
  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper, then set aside to cool.
  6. Preheat the grill to a high temperature.
  7. Remove the ribs from the pot, pat dry, season with salt and pepper, then brush with the sauce liberally. Grill, rotating frequently until the outside is blackened, about 8 minutes.
  8. Before cutting into individual ribs, loosely tent the ribs with foil and set them aside for 5 minutes.
  9. The extra sauce should be served on the side for dipping.
