Description
Gooey Caramel Apple Pie Bombs made with soft biscuit dough, warm apple pie filling, melted caramel, and a buttery cinnamon sugar coating. A quick, cozy dessert perfect for fall, holidays, or easy family treats.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough, 8 biscuits
- 1 cup apple pie filling, chopped into small pieces
- 8 soft caramel candies or 3 tablespoons thick caramel sauce
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional: 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped pecans or walnuts
- Optional: 2 tablespoons cream cheese, cut into small cubes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
- Chop the apple pie filling into small pieces so it fits easily inside the dough.
- Flatten each biscuit into a small circle using your hands or a rolling pin.
- Place a small spoonful of apple filling in the center of each dough circle, then add one soft caramel candy or a small amount of thick caramel sauce.
- Bring the edges of the dough up around the filling and pinch tightly to seal. Roll gently into a ball shape.
- Place the sealed dough balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.
- Bake for 14–16 minutes, or air fry for 8–10 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Brush the warm apple pie bombs with melted butter, then roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve warm with extra caramel drizzle, vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
- Do not overfill the dough or the caramel may leak during cooking.
- Seal the edges tightly and place the bombs seam-side down for best results.
- Chop the apple pie filling finely for easier sealing and better texture.
- For a richer version, add a small cube of cream cheese inside each bomb.
- For extra crunch, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the filling.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer or oven for the best crispy texture.
